Growing and emerging concepts

Buffalo, NY-based JUST PIZZA (founded 1992) has opened 2 units, from 8 to 10 (25% growth). The restaurants are quick serve pizzerias, serving beer and wine, and open for lunch and dinner hours. Seating is for about 40. Catering and delivery are available. 40% percent of units are franchised. All locations are in NY.

Milford, OH-based BUFFALO WINGS & RINGS (founded 1988) has opened 3 units during the period, from 17 to 20 (29% growth) and entered into the states of NC and TX. The restaurants are family/casual, serving American cuisine. Meal periods are lunch and dinner, with a per person check average of $6-$12. Units seat about 200. Catering is available. Locations are in FL, IN, KY, NC, NY, OH, and TX, with plans to open in AZ and CA this fall. All locations are franchised.

Austin, TX-based CARINO'S ITALIAN GRILL (founded 1997) has opened 4 units, from 167 to 171 (2% growth). We last covered this concept in our 2/13/07 newsletter, when they had a 4-unit decrease. The chain was previously known as Johnny Carino's Country Italian. The restaurants are family casual Italian eateries, with a full bar and seating for about 250. Locations are open for lunch and dinner, with a per person check average of $8-$20. Catering is available. Units are in the state of AL, AR, CA, CO, FL, GA, ID, IN, KS, KY, LA, MI, MO, MT, NC, ND, NJ, NV, OH, OK, OR, PA, SD, TN, TX, UT, VA, and WA. More than half of the units are franchised.

DUSTIN'S BBQ based in Edgewater, FL (founded 1991) has opened a new unit, from 4 to 5 (25% growth). Locations are family/casual serving beer and wine with seating for about 200. The per person check average is around $6-15 and catering is offered. All locations are company owned and are in FL.
