Growing and emerging concepts

AVADO BRANDS of Atlanta, GA (founded 1985) has increased by 5 units for its Don Pablo concept, from 96 to 101 (5% growth). The overall company increase is from 118 to 123. These are family/casual Mexican restaurants with full bar and seating for about 200. The per person check average is $4-$10 and catering is offered. Current concepts are Don Pablo's (101) and Hop's Restaurant Bar & Grill (22). Units are located in CO, CT, DE, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, MI, MN, NJ, NC, NY, OH, OK, PA, SC, TN, TX and VA.

BOSTON'S THE GOURMET PIZZA of Dallas, TX (founded 1964) had an overall increase of 10 units from 308 to 318 (3% growth). Current concepts are, Boston Pizza (headquartered and located in Canada) 267 units and Boston's The Gourmet Pizza (headquartered in USA) 51 units. These are family/casual restaurants with full bar and seating for about 250. Banquets are offered. Units are 98% franchised. They are located in AB, AK, AZ, BC, CA, CO, FL, GA, IA, IL, IN, MB, MI, MN, NB, ND, NE, NJ, NL, NM, NS, NT, NV, ON, PA, PE, PQ, SD, SK, TX, UT, WA, WI, YT and Mexico. There are plans to open 20 new units in the USA during 2007.

STARR RESTAURANT GROUP based in Philadelphia, PA (founded 1995) has opened a new location of their Buddakan concept in Atlantic City, NJ. The overall company increase is 1 unit, from 15 to 16 (7% increase). Concepts include Alma De Cuba (1), Barclay Prime (1), Buddakan (3), Continental (3), El Vez (1), Jones (1), Morimoto (2), Pod (1), Striped Bass (1), Tangerine (1), and Washington Square (1). These are upscale restaurants that typically have full bar and seating for about 150. Locations are currently in NY, NJ and PA.

Signs of theft
