Growing concepts

PIZZA PATRON of Dallas, TX (founded 1986) has increased by 5 units, from 60 to 65 (8% growth). The company has grown a total of 11 units, from 54 to 65 over the last three periods (20% one-year growth). These are take-out pizza locations serving lunch and dinner. All locations are franchised and located in AZ, CA, CO, NV and TX.

Centreville, VA-based GLORY DAYS GRILL (founded 1996) has opened 2 units during the period, from 17 to 19 (12% growth). The restaurants are family/casual, open for lunch and dinner, with an $8-$20 per person check average. Seating is for about 225. Banquet and catering services are available. Trading areas are MD and VA, with a new location opening soon in Ranson, WV. Only 2 locations in the company are franchised (located in VA), the rest are company owned and operated.

San Francisco, CA-based EXTREME PIZZA (founded 1994) has increased by 4 units, from 30 to 34 (13% growth). These quick service pizzerias are open for lunch and dinner, with seating for about 40. Beer and wine are available at some locations. The restaurants deliver and also offer online ordering from the company website. Locations are in the states of CA, CO, TX, VA, and WA, with a Portland, OR site to open soon. More than 80% of locations are franchised.

Dallas, TX-based WHICH WICH (founded 2003) has opened 9 locations during the last 4 months, from 12 to 21 (75% growth) and expanded into the states of AZ, CO, OK, and TN, with a Columbia, SC location to open this summer. Other trading areas are FL, GA, and TX. Restaurants are quick service sandwich shops, open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with unit sizes ranging from 500 to 1500 sq ft. Per person check average is $2-$6. Catering is available. More than 80% of locations are franchised.

FIREMAN HOSPITALITY GROUP-CAFE CONCEPTS based in New York, NY (founded 1974) has increased by 1 unit for their Brooklyn Diner concept, from 1 to 2. The overall company increase is from 6 to 7 (17% growth). The concepts are typically upscale restaurants with full bar, seating for about 200 and a per person check average of around $15-$50+ depending upon the concept. Current concepts are Bond 45 Italian Kitchen (1), Brooklyn Diner (2), Café Fiorello (1), Redeye Grill (1), Shelly's New York (1) and Trattoria Dell' Arte (1). All locations are in NY.
