A weekly newsletter covering public and private restaurant chains featuring under-reported unique facts relating to growth. Pertinent information is gathered, verified and analyzed in-house using proprietary methods created in our research and library departments. Only Restaurant Chain personnel in our database receive a private, unabridged version of the newsletter including 11-14 alerts stories per week. Dublin, OH-based CITY BARBEQUE (founded 1990), has increased by 2 units, from 9 to 11 (22% growth). These family/casual BBQ restaurants are open for lunch and dinner, serving beer and wine, with a per person check average of $6-$15+. Units seat about 100. Catering and private party service is available at all locations. Between 20% and 30% of units are franchised. All locations are in OH.

Everett, WA-based GARLIC JIM'S FAMOUS GOURMET PIZZA (founded 2003), has increased by 5 units during the period, from 28 to 33 (18% growth) and expanded into the state of PA. Other trading areas are AZ, OR, and WA, with stores under construction in CA. This company was previously mentioned in our 6/13/06 newsletter as showing a 40% growth. Locations are mostly take-out/delivery. Beer and wine sales are available at some locations. Units are more than 90% franchised.

ASIAN TOO of Winter Park, Fl (founded 2006) has increased by 2 units, from 1 to 3 (200% growth) during the period. We first presented this new concept in the 4/14/06 issue of our newsletter when they only had one store. Locations are fast casual Asian fusion units open for lunch and dinner with a check average of about $8. The two new units are express style operations and located in food courts. The flagship store is in FL and the two new units are in TX and MA. All locations are company owned and there are plans to expand into MI, OH, TN, IL and IN.

OCEANAIRE SEAFOOD ROOM headquartered in Minneapolis, MN (founded 1999) has increased by 4 units, from 8 to 12 (50% growth). These are upscale seafood restaurants with full bar, seating for about 300 and a per person check average ranging from $15-$50+. Stores are located in DC, CA, GA, IN, MD, MN, TX and WA and the company is now also trading in FL, NC, and PA.

In the past months we have been noticing the proliferation of "link farms."

They are websites used by sham companies who are using registered trademarked names to drive users to click on ads placed by search engines like google or yahoo.

This has now popped up in the restaurant space. As a free service to restaurant chains we are launching a service to combat this issue.

As we perform restaurant market research using the internet, in combination with key words that searchers use to come to our Restaurantchains.net website, we found we are able to find abusers and infringers of restaurant names.

Whenever this occurs we will notify you of the website(s) who seem to be scamming by using your protected, respected brand name.
