SHIKI JAPANESE RESTAURANT based Statesville, NC has increased by 1 unit, from 5 to 6 (20% growth).  These are family/casual Japanese restaurants with seating for around 100.  Beer and wine are served.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $6-$15+.  All locations are in NC.

Louisville, KY-based J. GUMBO'S DOWN-HOME CAJUN COOKIN has increased by 5 units, from 19 to 24 (26% growth) and entered into IL, IN, SC, and TN.  This is a fast casual Cajun concept, open for lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is $4-$10, serving beer.  Units seat about 40 and offer catering service.  Locations are franchised and trade in GA, IL, IN, KY, OH, SC, and TN.


TEDDY'S BIGGER BURGERS of Honolulu, HI (founded 1998) has increased by 2 units, from 6 to 8 (33% growth).  These are quick serve restaurants with seating for around 70.  Meal periods are lunch and dinner.  Per person check average is around $3-$8.  Locations are more than 40% franchised and are in HI, WA and Japan.

Chicago, IL-based POTBELLY SANDWICH WORKS (founded 1977) has increased by 16 units, from 234 to 250 (7% growth) and entered into MA, MO, NY, and WA.  These quick serve sandwich shops are open for breakfast, lunch and dinner, with a $3-$8 per person price range.  Units seat about 40 and offer catering, delivery and online ordering services.  Trading areas are DC, IL, IN, KY, MA, MD, MI, MN, MO, NY, OH, PA, TX, VA, WA, and WI.  We wrote about this concept on 11/16/10 (1% growth) and on 3/29/11 (3% growth).

Santa Ana, CA-based WAHOO'S FISH TACO (founded 1988) has increased by 4 units, from 56 to 60 (7% growth) and entered into NV and NY.  These fast casual Mexican restaurants are open for lunch and dinner, with a $4-$10 per person price range.  Beer and wine are served and seating is for about 80.  Catering and delivery options are available.  Locations are franchised and trade in CA, CO, HI, NY, NY, and TX.  We wrote about this concept on 1/11/11 (13% growth) and on 10/25/11 (4% growth).
